CURRICULUM

The Confirmation curriculum focuses on the Bible, Ten Commandments, Apostles Creed, Reformation, and more.

In the past we have used Confirm Not Conform, Faith Inkubators, and Colaborate Lutheran.

We highly emphasize putting faith into action because Jesus teaches us that it’s our duty as Christians to serve our  communities.

We also make sure our students know that whether or not they want to be confirmed at the end of the two-year class is entirely their decision. It’s up to them to decide if they believe in the Christian faith and want to publicly confirm that faith.

CALUMET RETREAT

Each March, our Confirmation class goes to Camp Calumet for a Confirmation Camp Weekend to bond, meet other Confirmation students from around New England, and experience the beauty of Calumet in the winter! This event is always highly anticipated and enjoyed by our Confirmation students.

The Bible is alive;
It speaks to me.
It has feet;
It runs after me.
It has hands,
It lays hold of me.

~Martin Luther

YOUTH SERVICE

Each year on Mothers’ Day, the youth at First Lutheran host our worship service! They do everything that the adults normally do.

Our Confirmation students learn and perform one song, create and perform a skit for the Children’s Message, and some of them even write and deliver the sermon!

It’s a wonderful and beloved event for all who participate and all who attend!
