First Lutheran has teamed up with Maine Needs for holiday gift boxes. There are two ways to participate:
Prepare for a December Packing Party
Each month, you’ll see wish list items on the Maine Needs Holiday Gift Boxes [MNHGB] Clothesline.
Bring the item(s) to MNHGB donation bin in the front lobby area.
The Outreach Committee will keep the donations until December when we will have a MNHGB Packing Party. Your donations for the summer and fall will be our inventory to make assembly-style gift boxes as a team.
Fill your own gift boxes ~ now or in December
Just like before, families can fill their own gift boxes with items you gather! Please use the age-specific wish lists from Maine Needs. Wait until December or start sooner if you see sales and/or feel inspired!
We have been asked to focus on gift boxes for mothers, teens, and kids/tweens ages 9-12. However, we would love gift boxes for younger kids… see lists!
In early fall, we will give you your desired number of shoebox sized plastic tubs to fill and return to church by December 14. You will simply need to note the gender and age on the plastic tub.
Our First Lutheran community is so generous, and our Maine community will be so grateful! How many boxes will we give?
