Healthy churches are filled with healthy volunteers! A brief visit to a Family Promise site, Once Upon a Holiday Fair, or Sunday morning worship reveals this to be oh-so-true of First Lutheran. So many hands are needed to guarantee the success of FLC ministries; these many hands continue each week/month/year to create the foundation on which our ministries flourish.

Getting a good start can make all the difference. Our Give a Child a Chance initiative raises funds to allow neighborhood children in need to attend our preschool program.
After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.”
That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.
Strengthened by Word, Song, and Prayer, we share our love for Jesus
through service to others in our community.
We come together in a variety of settings including Greater Portland Family Promise,
Crop Hunger Walks, Give a Child a Chance, The Root Cellar, and more.
